Principal's Report

Operation Furniture Update

We were delighted to invite back Pacific Assist to our last assembly.  Those who were in attendance will know that our old furniture is now being used in Papua New Guinea!  As I'm sure our 2018 families will remember, we loaded up 8 shipping containers on the second last day of the school year.  These containers took a few months to arrive so it has been a while between updates. The team from Pacific Assist kindly put together a short video of the project which is on our website. Please take a moment to watch the video.

Year 1 and 2 LOTE Incursion

Thank you to Breadon Sensei for organising fun learning incursions for our year 1 and 2 students.  To find out more visit our website by clicking here.

Out of Uniform Day

Thank you to all our families who supported the SRC Out of Uniform Day.  $800 was raised and this will all be donated to the Backpacks 4 Vic Kids Schools Fundraiser.  As you will be aware, we are taking donations at the office of items to fill the backpacks.   We are still in need of many items.  Thankyou to the families who have already generously donated.

Prep Alphabet Celebration

This week our prep students celebrated their learning of the entire alphabet!  They were all very proud of their achievements and as a school, we are proud of their learning and their start to schooling.

Open Afternoon

Next Wednesday the 19th of June is our termly Open Afternoon.  We hope to see as many parents and guardians as possible attend to celebrate the students learning.  This is a great way to see what your child has been learning throughout term two, specifically in reading.  We would also appreciate if you can vote on our writing boards.  Students and teachers take a lot of  pride in the work displayed throughout the school so please cast your vote on the afternoon.

Student Phones

Just a reminder that the school doesn't take liability for any mobile phones brought to school by students.  We do our best to support students by locking them away in the office or the classroom but we do not take responsibility.

CPR Training

Every year Pakenham Springs requires all staff to complete CPR training.   We exceed the required ratio's for schools to ensure safety is a priority.   We have an external provider come into train us all and as Principal I am grateful for our staff who give up their time after hours to ensure they are trained in case of an emergency.

Winter Clothing

As Winter arrives please make sure your children are well dressed for the conditions.  If your child is prone to needing a change of clothes, please pop a spare set in their school bag.  This would greatly support our admin staff and keep the children warm.

Student Insurance

Families are reminded and should consider that the Department of Education does not provide personal accident insurance or ambulance cover for students.  In the unlikely event of injury, parents and carers of students who do not have student accident insurance/ambulance cover are responsible for paying the cost of medical treatment for injured students, including the cost of ambulance attendance or transport costs.

WOOLWORTHS EARN & LEARN is on again

We are collecting the Woolworths Earn & Learn stickers again.  We have the sticker sheets available at the school Office or at Woolworths.   We look forward to collecting as many as we can to earn some great prizes for our school!

Enrolments for 2020 students

We are currently in the process of planning for 2020.   We recently held a Prep 2020 information night.   If you know of anyone who is considering enrolling at Pakenham Springs next year - either in Prep or other year levels, please ask them to contact the school office on 59457 400 and we can help them with any queries.

Designated Neighbourhood Boundary (DNB).

In order to accommodate our current students and manage enrolments, a school boundary exists for Pakenham Springs Primary School.  Findmyschool.vic.gov.au hosts the most up-to-date information about Victorian school boundaries for 2020 onwards. To visit the site see: www.findmyschool.vic.gov.au
