New term well under way!
Welcome back to Term 3. I pray that you all had a restful break and have returned reinvigorated. The staff started the term at the biannual CSA conference, where we had the opportunity to hear from two keynote speakers, as well as attend a workshop and seminar. These times are important to learn new skills and to listen to world class experts in their fields.
I am always amazed how God works in our lives. This term the staff will be working through the book of Romans in the Bible as part of our devotions. While Romans starts with an encouraging message, it does not take Paul long to get us to reflect on how we treat each other. He reminds us that we will be judged by God and that we must not judge others. As I worked through Romans 2, I was reminded that I needed to apply this message to myself. As a staff I encouraged them all to examine themselves and I would encourage students and parents to do the same.
It is one thing to point out the law to others, but it is another when we start living and working for God, and his law becomes ingrained on our hearts. When we become the light that we are called to be, then God can start working through us. We become a sweet-smelling fragrance to others. The message, the love of God, becomes irresistible to others. My prayer this term is that as a community we can be a light on the hill for our community. We can do the will of God, living a life that is pleasing to God.
God bless,

Year 12 Physics
Thanks to Mr Bondor, Thomas Rooney and myself were blessed to have the opportunity to take part in the Uni SA connect program, designed to connect secondary schools and the community with educational opportunities.
During the session we were guided by Mr Nat through concepts involving magnetic and electric fields. Once we had been briefed on the theory, we were then let free to play with their expensive equipment. This included a teltron tube to observe the deflection of electrons when a magnetic field is applied, and the hall effect through a circuit to observe changes in the hall voltage using a multi-meter.
It was fantastic to gain an experience in the essence of Physics practicals at a Uni SA level.

Extreme Frisbee
My name is Hunter Collingwood.
In the July Holidays I went up to Logan, Queensland for a 3-day Frisbee tournament. I played for the Queensland mixed X team as South Australia did not have a enough players to make a team so i decided to try out for the Queensland team and got in.
We played 5 games in total and won 3 of them, in the end we came out with gold against SWU cubs (Which was the mixed team for NSW). My team was made up of 5 girls and 8 boys and myself being the captain.
Many thanks to the students who purchased a sausage sizzle last term to help me raise funds to compete in this event.
You can view two of the games on YouTube from the links below.

Student Leadership Training
The Class Captains and School Captains started the term off with the ACTS leadership conference, titled, It Only Takes 12. Organised by Cedar College in conjunction with CSA. The ACTS conferences were founded 3 years ago, to help provide Middle School Student Leaders with Christian leadership training. It has since grown to include students from Years 6-12.
This year’s conference included guest speaker, Matt Purcell who inspired students to step into the calling of leadership and follow that passion with action. He provided students with practical techniques and strategies to initiate action towards justice and love within their schools. Our Class Captains and School Captains have now started the process of enacting what they learnt within the school.
This term we have the School Captains speaking at Chapel services on Wednesday mornings, Weeks 2, 3,5 and 7. Malcolm Worthing started the ball rolling this week, sharing about 1 Samuel 30 where David pursued the Amalekites to restore what belonged to the Israelites. Malcolm highlighted that God goes with us when we pursue the things that he has given us. We also enjoyed the opportunity to worship together, led by the student worship team.
Middle School Class Captains are in the middle of preparing for Health Week in Week 7 this term and are learning the organisation skills needed to plan events. We ask that the school community continues to pray for our Student Leaders as they work with the added responsibility of leadership.
