Author Visit

This week students had the opportunity to participate in a workshop with published author, Rosanne Hawke. Rosanne showed us how she mindmaps her characters so that they write their own stories. She helped students consider the motivations and traits of their characters and then use them to determine what happens in the story. Rosanne talked about how she writes her novels, including the challenges she faces.

Creativity at its Best

Part of our Year 8 History unit this term has focused on Medieval Europe. As part of this, students were asked to create a model which reflected an aspect of life during those times; from clothing, to living spaces, to food, to armoury. Once again, I am blown away by the amazing work they have produced! Thank you to those who helped them in the process – they have worked very hard and should all be very proud of what they managed to create.

Cabaret Night with Amelia Rooney

My name is Amelia and I am currently in Year 12 studying music and the performing arts. As a part of my Stage 2 Creative Arts subject, I am hosting a Cabaret called “tornadoes & rabbit holes” on the 20th of September at the Mt Barker Town Hall. It is inspired by the wonderful tales of The Wizard of Oz and Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, where songs will be performed by a number of my fellow students.

It would amazing to see you come along!
