A Fortnight in Review

Last newsletter I mentioned the brilliant work of our first Representative Chess Team.  Below are photos from the event.  Well done team!

What a wonderful last two weeks it has been for excursions and camps!

Excursions

The Reception class explored Woolworths (Strathalbyn).  This assisted students in their understanding of healthy eating.  They purchased fruit for a healthy class lunch.

The Year R/1 class ventured down to Hopgood Theatre and were entertained by watching the production ‘Zoom’.  This presentation complemented their current study of light and sound in the classroom.

The Year 3 class were very excited to explore the Hans Heysen Studio and House at Hahndorf.  They were joined on the excursion by the Year 3 class from Tyndale Murray Bridge; it is great to see cross-campus collaboration occurring.

Camps

The Year 5 and 6 classes had a wonderful time at the Wirraway campsite.  Many enjoyed the sheep sorting, archery, climbing wall and various other activities.

The Year 1 and 2 students will be the first to experience a late night (Year 1’s) and a school sleep over (Year 2’s) this Friday.  This sounds very exciting!

Thank you to the staff members and parents who have made these events possible; the children had a ball! We will wait with anticipation until the next newsletter edition for a detailed summary of these events. I cannot wait for that!

It should be a very exciting next two weeks with SACSA Soccer, Parent/Teacher interviews and Music Night.

Take care.

During Health Week we thought it would be a great opportunity to get together and discuss some of the fruits and vegetables we like to eat. We had lots of fun getting creative and making some art which displays our favourite vegetables. We were surprised by what some of the seeds look like – some were very tiny, some were huge and some were not the colours we expected at all.
