Swim Scheme
School Swimming Scheme has been under way over the last fortnight and I believe their has been some great progress made by our Year 2 swimmers.
A big thank you to Jaimee for being such a great swim teacher and to all the teachers and staff who have ensured the group gets to the pool each day.

Cricket Knock Out at Molong
Cricket Boorowa vs Molong
Last Wednesday 11 boys and Mr Blomfield travelled to Molong to play the second round of the 40 over knock out comp. There was a lot of pressure as we knew a victory would mean we would qualify for State and also get 2 more days off school! We arrived in Molong around 9.30 and had a look at the dirt track we had to play on. We won the coin toss and decided to have a bat.
Ben and Felix opened the batting and got us off to a good start. They put on 28 before Ben was dismissed for 14. Felix and Byron added another 26 to the scoreboard before Felix was also dismissed for 15. This left us 2/54 after 11 overs. Joe Prosper then came to the crease and hit a few nice fours and he and Byron made it to drinks at 2-75. Joe didn’t last too long after drinks before being dismissed for 15. James added 5 to the score leaving us with 4-91 after 19 overs. Josh Demont then came to the crease and after a first ball duck last game did not take too long to get into his groove smashing 6 fours and sadly on 31 Josh was dismissed. This left us 5/129 after 25 overs. Jacob and Byron added 20 before Byron was dismissed for 40 only hitting 1 four in his innings and 8 twos. Hayden Hewitt then came to the crease and didn’t take him long to find the middle of the bat. He ran a few quick singles to start his innings off. They put 39 on before Jacob was caught out for 31 including 7 twos. Josh K then joined Hayden at the crease and Hayden had had enough of running these singles. He was smacking them everywhere and hit 3 fours in a row before chancing his arm one time too many and was dismissed for 21. A well compiled 21. Nathan then came to the crease and Josh was dismissed shortly after for 10. Darcy hit a nice 12 - not out to finish off the innings. Nathan was 0 not out. We scored 224 off our 40 overs which we were pretty happy with.
Jacob opened the bowling. Ben and Jacob were unlucky not to get a wicket in their second over with a touch chance being put down by the keeper. Ben then ripped through Molong’s top order taking 2 wickets in 2 balls, making them 2-11. The first ball of the next over, Ben was on a hat trick but sadly he couldn’t get that third wicket. Josh then came on to bowl. In his second over he took his first wicket, knocking over their batsman and then his next over taking another wicket. This left Molong 4-46 after 13 overs. Josh then took another wicket in his next over. Hayden came onto to bowl and it didn’t take long for the star bowler to get his first wicket coming from his third ball.
At first drinks Molong we were 6-68 and we knew they wouldn’t last long after that. Jacob started the bowling after drinks and after switching to leg spin ripped through Molong’s tail to take 3 quick wickets. A run out in between his overs meant Molong were bowled out for 113.
The bowling figures were:-
Jacob Piper 3-15 after 8 overs Josh Kachinsky 0-20 after 2 overs H.Hewitt 1-5 after 1 over
Ben Klose 2-2 after 6 overs Josh Demont 2-13 after 5 overs
Felix Crozier 0-8 after 1
We are now off to Dubbo next week for the final challenge.
