Year 12 Excursion to 'Hamilton'

On 31 August, the Year 12 Revolutions classes - along with VCE history teachers Mr Kirk Thomson, Ms Courtney Stammers and Ms Meaghan Ryan - attended a production of the Tony, Grammy, Olivier and Pulitzer Prize winning musical 'Hamilton' at Her Majesty's Theatre.

For some students, this was their first experience going to see a significant theatre show, and the experience was a fantastic way for them to celebrate their studies of history and revolutions.

Student Reflection

"Last Wednesday, the History Revolutions students were lucky enough to be in the room where it happens at Her Majesty’s theatre to see the fantastic production of Hamilton.

Keen students of history, all those who took part on this excursion absolutely loved the show. We got to see a new revolution, the American Revolution, which featured plenty of references to the French Revolution, which we are more familiar with. Watching the show together, along with groups from other schools was brilliant and the atmosphere was electric.

For a show all about how history will remember you, it was defiantly a highlight in how we will remember history at St Bede’s College. If you get the chance to see this show, don’t throw away your shot, this is a must-see!

Special recommendation for anyone thinking of studying Revolutions in year 12, remember History has its eyes on you!"
