Principal's Message
by Ms Reynolds
Term 3 has begun with a flourish!
On School Development Day staff gathered for professional learning around:
- our trauma-informed approach to behaviour;
- positive classroom environments and expectations for learning; and
- the importance of Number Talks to build student understanding in maths.
To learn about Dan Siegel's Flip Your Lid (name it to tame it): https://youtu.be/gm9CIJ74Oxw
Teachers are working hard to put this learning into practice so that students have clear routines and expectations in classrooms and can spend more time focusing on learning. Students in classrooms have settled quickly back into routines - and learning for the term is well underway.
Over the past 2 weeks Stage 3 students visited Uni - Western Sydney University, Paramatta campus; Kindy have celebrated 100 days of learning; Years 3-6 have started a 4-week softball clinic; 2 trainee teachers are learning from the expertise of Ms Ward and Mrs Kim; and our Athletics Carnival is scheduled for tomorrow!
Winter uniform
Please note that school jumpers and jackets are available from the Uniform Shop (Friday mornings 9am-9:30) or from the front office (just ring 9637-1562 or pop in and order). No black or coloured hoodies are allowed. And - beanies are not part of the uniform either - students can wear to school in the mornings, then put in their bag for the day. Thank you to parents for supporting our uniform standards.
