The student’s have returned in good spirits and seem to have all had a nice break. Staff have also enjoyed a well-earned break, even though three of them completed some professional development over the holidays.

Mr Jones has run both indoor hockey and volleyball as the Wednesday night sports so far this term with lots of students enjoying the activities.

Last Saturday morning 8 students went to Bunbury and participated in some roller blading, lots of laughs and falls were had by all. Saturday afternoon was a horrible day weather wise with strong winds and driving rain so indoors was the best option for the rest of the day.

Sunday night Ms Taylor helped the students cook damper around the fire pit, which was something different and I am told very tasty also. Monday night hockey in Collie was a very cold and wet venture, we only had 8 players available but tried hard in the conditions. Well done.

Tuesday evening saw a town trip, footy training, town gym and Country Week hockey training straight after school. This was followed by “MasterChef” run by Ms Taylor and Mrs Wellington. It has been decided that as we have been really hamstrung by staff numbers and availability in the first two terms that we would up the group sizes and try and get the Year 12's through this term. To do that we needed to have bigger groups and to make that happen we are using the main kitchen facilities where we have far more room for preparation etc. The pictures tell the story with some amazing food being produced and enjoyed.

Netball Wednesday evening in town saw a fantastic game played at a high standard by both teams, unfortunately we went down by 2 points in a very close game. Great team effort, well done.

Congratulations to Madison Byrnes-Peters and Millah Gray who represented the Harvey Netball Association in the U16 representative team at the South West and Peel Regional Championships that was held last weekend in Bunbury. Despite the heavy rainfall and strong winds, the team played hard and finished fourth in their division. Well done Madison and Millah!

Mr White recommenced the darts for maths for the term with some very willing participants really enjoying and getting lots out of it.

Just a timely reminder that students need to eat properly, including a well-balanced diet. We do our best at the College to support everyone in this area , but individual students need to take responsibility for themselves on this matter. Staff have some concerns over a few students, and we will continue to monitor them for their own good.

Staff have decided to re-introduce the Boarder of the Week award to encourage the students who are doing that little bit more around the College to assist both fellow students and staff alike. Staff will enter students’ names into a box and one student will be drawn out each week. The first draw will take place on Monday.

Rosie Hughes commenced a World Map jigsaw puzzle some time back as a personal challenge, Payton Marley, Erin Donaghy and Alyssa Rijkers have recently been assisting her and this week they completed the puzzle. Well done girls, what a big effort.

This weekend sees us off to Perth for the Year 12 day out. This was asked for by the students and initially was very well supported, unfortunately the subscribed numbers have almost halved, but it will proceed anyway on Saturday. Heidi Armstrong and Brenton Rice have been the driving force behind the many hours of planning and all the associated paperwork that goes into organising an event like this, so thankyou ever so much. Mr Jones will join them on Saturday for what should be an amazing day.
