This week we have welcomed back a number of trainers who had contracted COVID in week 1. This week we have been without Mr Howell and Mr Curran who have both followed on from the trainers in week 1 and unfortunately caught COVID. It is a timely reminder that this variant is different to the first and as such there is a greater chance of repeat infection by staff and students who have previously had COVID. It is mandated that both staff and students wear masks while driving College vehicles on and off the farm. We appreciate any support parents and carers can provide in reinforcing this message.

This week we have been marking a number of our dorper lambs at the Intensive Animals section while the beef herd has been, and we will continue to, medicate them over the coming weeks. Mr Adams has been working with his lambs and trying to wrap things up before the heavy rains appear next week.

We have had a large shuffle of trainers on the Farm and things can be challenging when rotating students through various sections but these positions will be advertised shortly and we are hopeful that we will have a full contingent of staff in the not too distant future. In the mean time we have Mr Hodgson, Ms Ferraro and Mr Campion all working on a casual basis on various days to fill voids left by previous staff.

The Provide First Aid course delivered by St Johns has been continuing and a large number of students will complete the two day course this term. We are fortunate to have the services of the local sub centre in fulfilling this role.

In the coming weeks an Auctioneering Course will be delivered to students who registered their interest. This is facilitated by Elders and will give our students an insight into possible vocations post school life.

If you have any questions about the farm program please do not hesitate to get in contact with Mr Howell or myself.
