Principal's Report
Mr Gerard Raven
Dear families,
This term we have begun the planning stages for 2023 including the subject selection process. I was pleased to see solid attendance at the parent information evenings over the last week as education is a partnership between home and school. I ask that you keep the communication open as you consider what your child should be doing next year and contact me directly (principal@stbc.vic.edu.au) if you have any questions about our programs or how we can support your child.
The College offers a vast array of co-curricular programs that enable all students to celebrate success and pursue their passion. Young people need you, as their parents, to help them identify their gifts and passion. Young people who actively engage in the co-curricular life of the College build strong friendships, connections and build their self-esteem. I encourage you to talk to your child(ren) about what their passion is and how they can explore this in the life of our College community. We gain so much by giving of ourselves to our community and forming new and different connections.
This week we have seen the impact that the COVID virus and influenza can have on our community with an increasing number of students and staff absent with illness. To limit the spread I have asked staff to wear masks where appropriate and to model mask wearing to students. I would ask for your support again in encouraging your child to wear a mask. The message is clear: we are wearing masks not for our benefit but to show we care for others. This reflects our College’s values. Please continue to follow the health guidelines around isolation and notification when you or your family are impacted.
Stay Safe,
Gerard Raven
