Projects of the 5/6 Hub

Zoe would like to design and build a three story building. She is going to investigate the process of building design and construction. She will build her building with cardboard, balsa wood and pipe cleaners. Zoe will try to find out how to get an elevator to work in her building.

Kayla, Bella and Vanesssa are working on a comic about a Quokka and a Capybara that travel the world for children under 12 years old. On the way to other countries, states and more they meet many people. They are planning to launch on week 8 Monday. They are using the Design and research process.

On Friday the 19th of August, the 5/6 hub is going on an Excursion to ACMI.

During the experience we will be looking at the Oskar Fischinger exhibition, which is the world's first projector installation made in 1926. We will also be looking at ‘About Light: Works from Tate Collection’ - which is a collection from London moved all the way to Australia. Through these experiences we will explore how sound, light and movement are impacted by different forces, the different processes involved in generating, reflecting on ideas and the different ethical issues that contain multiple perspectives that are produced from innovation and design.

We hope the grade 5/6s will enjoy their stay at ACMI.
