Term 3 Wonder

Wonder Excursion - Project Runway

On Thursday the 11th of August our Wonder Class "Project Runway" went to Chadstone Shopping Centre to gather more information that will be useful to our Wonder project.

During our trip to Chadstone, each group went to different shops to collect data for their project. Our group went to some fast fashion stores like H&M, Uniqlo, Cotton On, Supre and many more, to collect data on what kind of fabrics most of the stores use and whether they are sustainable or not. We realised that in H&M and Uniqlo they started using Lenzing Ecovero viscose material to make their clothes. Lenzing Ecovero is the most sustainable viscose fibre which is more sustainable then regular fibres that makes cotton. They have also used recycled cotton and polyester in their clothing. Some other fast fashion stores like Cotton On still use materials like cotton, polyester, nylon etc, in their clothing.

It was a great and fun experience to be able to walk around Chadstone amongst all the other groups who are all doing extremely unique and creative projects related to fashion!
