Killester goes to the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra 

Last week 50 Killester musicians headed to Robert Blackwood Hall to see the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra in action. 

The orchestra was performing Modest Mussorgsky's famous Pictures at an Exhibition, a piece in which each different movement features a painting by Victor Hartmann.  From 'The Old Castle' to the 'Ballet of the Unhatched Chicks' the orchestra painted the pictures beautifully, using their fine-tuned musicianship. The Killester Concert Band members particularly enjoyed the performance as they are currently learning Pictures at an Exhibition themselves, ready for our concert on September 12.

After the show conductor Ingrid Martin came out to say a special hello to the Killester students and explained how she prepared for the concert.
