Secondary Netball

After months of training and hard work our Secondary Netball Teams travelled to Ballarat to compete in the Victorian school championships. They were met with some tough competition from the other competing schools.

The Junior Girls Netball Team performed extremely well. They burst out of the blocks with two very impressive wins. They continued to play some great netball for the remainder of the day finishing with 3 wins and a draw which was a fantastic effort. While the Junior Boys team didn’t revel in the success the girls did, they still had some great passages of play, and the highlight of the day was their final game which went down to the wire. Although the result did not go their way, they well and truly had the crowd involved which would have been exciting to be a part of.

The Intermediate Teams battled hard all day. The Boys teams finished their day with a nail biter. Once again, the result didn’t go our way, but it was great to see the boys play as a unit and show the fight they did. The intermediate girls were able to finish on a high note winning their last game of the day which was a reward for all the effort they had put in throughout the day.

The Senior Boys and Girls teams were met with the toughest competition of them all. The win/loss columns did not paint an accurate picture of how well these teams played throughout the day. The boys were able to put some very exciting passages of play together under the watchful eyes of their coach Mr Townrow. While the girls were able to showcase their skills and fighting spirit that they have been working hard on during their training with Mrs Brewis.

All round it was a fantastic day to be a part of. A special Thank you to Sherri Barden, Jodie Jones, Rach Edgar, and Emily Holgate for coaching on the day. They all did a fantastic job, and we really appreciated their assistance on the day.

RAS Athletics

On Tuesday the 2nd of August the Primary RAS athletics team made the trip down to Albury to compete. We were blessed with some great weather and some even better results from our students. Some record breakers from the day included:

Harper Crawford equalling the record in the 10-year-old girls High Jump

and Lucy Donnan setting a record in the 9-year-old girls Shot Put.

What a great achievement from the girls. The ribbons did not stop there.

Cleo haw finished equal 3rd in the 9 and under High Jump.

Lucy Donnan also added a 3rd in the 9 and Under Discuss to her impressive record-breaking throw at Shot Put.

Indiana Gilbert Finished 2nd in 11-year-old Girls High Jump, jumping 1.23m which was outstanding!

Ruby Whitelegg finished 3rd in the 11-year-old Girls Shot Put which was also our first ribbon of the day. Later she also finished 3rd in Discuss as well.

Sophie Jardine finished 1st in the 100m and 200m Sprints and well as 2nd in High Jump and 3rd in Shot put

Jesse Nye finished 2nd in the 10-year-old Boys 100m Dash.

Max Johns finished 3rd in the 10-year-old Shot Put.

Ted Palmer finished 1st in the 10-year-old Discuss

Lachlan Jeffreys finished 1st in the 11-year-old Discuss

As you can see from the results above Moama Grammar had an extremely successful day with some amazing results. The results were pleasing but what was even more impressive was the way in which the students represented the school. They should all be very proud of their efforts and achievement from the day.
