Battle of the Houses Tournament

The Viewbank College Student Leaders are running a Battle of the Houses tournament for students each Wednesday lunchtime.  Last week the Year 7 and 8 students participated in a basketball tournament.  It was fantastic to see so many students come and compete for their houses to earn house points. The competition was close, however the winners of the first battle goes to Hydra.

Congratulations to Hydra and well done to all the participants.

Keep an eye on Teams for weekly announcements for information on activities and year levels competing.

Pick up our rubbish!!

Hi I’m Eki and this is Audrey, and we are two Ignis house captains, for Years 8 and 9.

As you know, our school yard filled with rubbish.

Despite our previous efforts to convince students to stop this ever growing problem, they haven’t done much.

As a response, we have developed the idea of the rubbish pick up program.

This is a program aimed to help improve the sustainability and clean presentation of our school, as well as improve the mindsets of the students around their impact on this campus.

For the small job of picking up rubbish around the yard, students will be able to come to you, the teachers on yard duty, and ask for house points depending on the amount they have picked up.

The system we have at the moment is for each 5 pieces they pick up and put in the bin, they earn one house point.

However, if a student, or a group of students cleans up a bag full of trash, they receive 10 house points.
