Save the Date: In-School Coordinator Forum

Due to Covid lockdowns continuing to impact schools in NSW and Victoria and the ACT, we have postponed our Term 3 In-School Coordinator Forum. Our next session will be held in Term 4 on Wednesday 20 October.

If you are a staff member coordinating The Fathering Project at your school, our In-School Coordinator (ISC) Forum is a great opportunity for you to find out more about the resources and support available to your school, and hear from other schools in our program.

A registration link for the In-School Coordinator Forum

will be emailed to school contacts in Term 4.

Dads, father figures and kids cook up a storm at the Nana Glen Public School Zoom Pizza Night

Covid lockdowns haven’t stopped the dads at Nana Glen Public School from organising some fantastic dads and kids events!

Last week dads, father figures and kids were joined by a local chef via Zoom for an online pizza making evening.

This week, the Nana Glen dads group have planned an online Dance Party with a local DJ providing the tunes. Prizes will be awarded to the best dressed family and best dance moves!

Well done to the Nana Glen dads

Magnet Fishing at Macleay Island

Dads, father figures, and kids put their fishing skills to the test for the Macleay Island State School Magnet Fishing Competition. Dads and father figures teamed up with their kids to catch as many fish as they could from the ‘lake’. Prizes were awarded to the team who caught the first fish and most fish. 5 lucky door prizes were also up for grabs. The local bait and tackle shop donated fishing rods and tackle as prizes.

Congratulations to Macleay Island for orgnaising such a fantastic event!

At home activity ideas

With school holidays just around the corner, encourage dads and father figures in your community to make positive memories by spending quality time with their kids.

We’ve got at home dads and kids activity ideas on our website here.

Get your dads group together and organise an online event. We have online group activity ideas with posters and instructional guides availablehere.

And even more great ideas on our activity worksheet attached. Please share this worksheet with yourDads Group members!

Don’t forget to add your events to the dads group portal!

Adding your events to the dads group portal allows us to support and keep track of your dads group activities. It’s also important for us to monitor the impact and outreach of The Fathering Project within our registered schools.
