Therapy Themes

O.T, Speech and Physio share their news, tips, and information.

Playing games is a great way to encourage communication and social interaction with your child.  These holidays try playing games that require waiting, turn-taking, and using your imagination.

Some examples are:

board games, cards such as uno, jenga , video games that require two players, ball games, and games that require imagination such as "What's the time Mr Wolf?", Giant's Treasure, Charades, and Simon Says.

Scavenger hunts can easily be done at home or out at the park. At home, choose a room e.g. the living room and try and find 5 things that are green. You can find things based on different themes (colours, animals etc.). Remember to use your child’s communication aide at home and when in the community.
