2021 Keane Writing Award

The Kaye Keane Writing Award 

 

2021 Grade 6 students are invited to enter into the annual Kaye Keane Writing Award. The writing piece must be a narrative and have themes and content related to one or more of the four school values (critical and creative thinking, kindness and empathy, gratitude and inclusiveness). 

 

The narrative will be judged by the CHPS English Team. 

 

The winner will receive a personally engraved pen, certificate and their name engraved on the Kaye Keane Writing Award Plaque that is displayed outside the school office. All entries will be compiled into book to commemorate this award. 

 

Entries must be typed and submitted by 23rd November to the classroom teacher and they will be passed onto the English Team. 

 

The winner of the award will be announced at the Grade 6 Graduation Ceremony 

 

Kaye Keane Writing Award Criteria 

 

The word limit: 1000 words.

Due date: Monday the 23rd November 

The narrative will be judged based on: 

1. Style and language

2. Creativity 

3. Story line and plot

4. Structure

5. Character development

6. Cohesiveness

7. Originality
