A visit from our friendly neighbourhood Spiderman

Yesterday morning I was contacted by a reliable source (Peter Parker) that our friendly neighbourhood Spiderman would be running past at 1:00pm and 3:30pm. It was a highlight for our students as they were dismissed!

NB: Peter shared Spiderman’s WWCC and assured me Spiderman would practise COVID-Safe behaviours. He’s also double vaxxed!

Return to School Guidelines

Next week marks the beginning of the State Government’s staged return to school with our Preps returning Monday – Wednesday and our Year Ones returning for Thursday and Friday.

To ensure our return to school is seamless and COVID-Safe the school will reintroduce the successful operational guidelines and practices from our previous Return to School Plans:

  • As much as functionally possible, staff and students will operate in sub-schools/zones:  Administration, Prep, Junior, Middle and Senior.  This will apply to learning areas, playgrounds, and staff spaces (staff rooms and workstations).
  • Hygiene processes and protocols will be maintained with both self-care and cleansing equipment a part of our processes.  This includes specialist subject areas between classes.
  • As of Monday October 18th, students attending school will enter and exit using Gates 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 and 10.
  • Students who are confident and capable of walking  through the gates unsupported are welcome to walk through the gate of their choice from 8:30am each morning and at 3:30pm on dismissal.
  • Students who need support to enter the school grounds will meet their teacher at their class’s agreed gate at 8:45am.
  • Children of Authorised Workers who are attending school for Onsite Learning:
    • Will need to continue to lodge their attendance (refer to Compass Post)
    • Will now enter and exit the school consistent with the dot points above unless they are scheduled to leave at 1:00pm.  Those students will continue to be picked up at the Administration building.
  • Parents and carers will not be permitted inside the school’s internal fence line and must approach the school’s Administration for in-person school matters.

Additional specific information and arrangements will be circulated by level leaders via their Friday Level Compass Post and by individual classroom teachers. These arrangements will remain as we welcome our Middle and  Senior School Students in Week 4.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Year 3 - 6 Students - Mask Wearing

Last week it was announced that all students in Years 3 - 6 will be required to wear masks at school.  I will provide clarity on this in the coming days via Compass.  Please see Carol Wyatt's Assistant Principal page for further information.

Staff Vaccinations

As previously shared, our school has had an overwhelmingly positive response rate of staff vaccinations.  As a result of a community partnership our staff were bulk-vaccinated in August this year.  It is hoped that our collective COVID-Safe practices provide the safest environment we can give our community in the current climate.

Children & Illness

It is now more important than ever that we keep our school community safe from the spread of germs.  Please read an important message from our First Aid Officer, Sophie Turnham on the What's Happening at CHPS page.
