From the Principal

It was terrific to catch up with so many families this past week on ZOOM, and I was delighted that the Junior School forum last night and Middle Years this morning were such positive occasions. We do sincerely care for you and your children and I thank Julia Winter Cooke, Stephen Nelson, Bernadette Milich, Helen Reiher, Rebekah Bonnett, Kristen Waldron and Susan Bradbeer for their energy and preparation for these community forums.

As you know, the lockdown in regional Victoria concludes tonight at midnight.  Tomorrow, ELC, Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 will return to Myrniong. On Sunday, Year 12 boarders and boarders doing 3/4 subjects will return to the Boarding House and on Monday 13 September, Year 12 will return to face-to-face learning. Year 11 students are required to attend school on days when their 3/4 classes are scheduled. These students are encouraged to return home after class at agreed scheduled intervals like recess, lunch and after school.  Sadly, Years 3-10 must access continuous remote learning until the end of Term 3. We look forward to being one whole school onsite next term.

Finally, it is with much sadness that I announce that over the past term Ms Tseng, Mr Ough and Mr Cook have announced their intentions to leave College at the end of 2021.  We have been blessed to have these three very fine teachers of Chinese, Mathematics/History and Business Management on staff and we are currently searching for replacements.  Mrs Simkin has also decided to step down as Head of Library after seventeen distinguished years of service. Next year she will teach a part time load of History. We will acknowledge and celebrate all four staff later in the year.

May we all continue to be humble, patient and gentle with ourselves and those around us.
