Graduating Class of 2021

Congratulations to our Class of 2021 who graduated last Thursday and joined the Old Boys' Association receiving their Old Boys tie, pin and life membership to the Association sponsored by the College Advisory Council.

Class by class the students were presented.  The ceremony was live-streamed from the Christian Brothers Centre at Oxford Falls to the devices of over 450 family and friends across Australia and the globe.

Thank you to our Pastoral Care Team led by Mr Ticli and Mr Lynch who managed a great ceremony and occasion for our Year 12 students, Fr David Ranson, our ICT Team and sound technician Mr Stephen Cummins, Music and Maintenance Staff. To Ms Bamber and Mr Couani who gave the Valedictory and Occasional Addresses, and to the Homeroom staff: Mr Quilty, Ms Bamber, Mr de Silva, Mr Rodgers, Mr Listo, Mr Cunneen, Mr Madani and Ms Proc, Counselling Staff: Mr Russo, Mrs McCarthy and Mrs Gill and all the teaching and support staff who have supported our Year 12 students over their preparations for the HSC.

Tom Van Dijk “Spirit of Pius” Award

In a fitting tribute to Tom Van Dijk his Homeroom Teacher Mr Alex Listo gave a moving oration before Mr and Mrs Van Dijk presented the Inaugural Tom Van Dijk “Spirit of Pius” Award to Austin Cleary for his consistent contributions to study, sport and wellbeing mentoring of younger students across the school.

The Year 12 students will commence the HSC Exams in a “bubble” at our Oxford Falls Treacy Centre next week, distant from the rest of the school. Given the positive spirit of this wonderful group of students, and the resilience and agility they have shown, and adversity they have overcome, we can be confident they will give a good account of themselves in all their endeavours.

Great lessons learnt " 'neath the Blue and Gold”.

They go with our prayers and best wishes.

Year 12 2022 Student Leadership Investiture

As our Year 12 Students 2022 were invested into leadership at the Period 3 Student Leadership Investiture Assembly today it is appropriate we recognise the work the Student Leadership has done in completing their Speechcraft Presentation Skills Course, which commenced in August and continued throughout the September holidays online, including Zoom conferences with Edmund Rice Beyond Borders Schools in Vancouver College, Canada, and across the globe.

College Captain Will Staber’s Team includes all the students from Year 12 2022 in their leadership tenure and today unveiled their 2022 College Mottos: “Opportunity and Growth”, and “Aspire to Inspire” with a great logo designed by Year 11 student Rufus Ashford which will feature in the College Diary and publications throughout their tenure of leadership. The Leadership Investiture was presided over by Vice Captains Ben Cullen and Ronan Crispe.

The much needed resources offered by this organisation are well regarded across our region and I encourage all interested parties to support and seek support from the seminars and programs they offer.

The following resource is specific to parents of Year 12 students and has some helpful information with exams about to begin next week. It may be useful for parents of students in Year 12, 11 and 10 as we support our students through their upcoming HSC Exams and assessment tasks.
