Prayer & Acknowledgment
PRAYER
As we celebrate the Feast Day of St Francis of Assisi on 4th October, a day to pray and celebrate "all creatures" great and small, we also remember in our prayers our pope, who took the name of Saint Francis.
Saint Francis is remembered for his generosity, and his love for animals and nature. While Saint Francis was praying one day, he received the same wounds Christ had. That was called the stigmata. He was the first ever recorded to receive the stigmata.
This week also marks the beginning of the Plenary Council which began on Sunday. May those involved, be open to the Spirit of God moving amongst them and in the words of St Benedict, "listen with the ear of their hearts".
At the end of each day, Father Joe has been sharing a reflection on his day with Plenary Council and other prayerful insights.
Last Wednesday night, Father Joe reflected on the process of EXAMEN, which is mostly done in the morning or in the evening, when you are still and present with God.
Father Joe explains the process as a way to, ‘…detect God’s presence in the day and to see where God is leading you.’
EXAMEN
- To become aware of GOD’S PRESENCE.
- Review the day with GRATITUDE.
- Pay attention to your EMOTIONS
- Choose one feature from the day and PRAY from it.
- To LOOK TOWARDS TOMORROW!

This is my land. My land is alive.
It calls you and it calls me.
Our people have been living here since the first sunrise.
I sing a song to her and she sings a song to me.
My spirit born of this country,
I am Yorta Yorta.
We pay our respects to the elders past and present and welcome you to our woka.
