Haiku Poems
This week the Year 3 students have begun exploring poetry. To begin the week, students have been learning how to write Haiku poems.
Haiku is a short form poetry originally from Japan. A Haiku poem consists of only three lines.
The first line includes 5 syllables.
The second line includes 7 syllables.
The final line includes 5 syllables.
Students have created their own free choice topics and also Haiku pieces that have focused on their current Unit of Inquiry: Sharing the Planet - SURVIVAL OF A SPECIES IS DEPENDENT ON ITS ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS.
We have been very proud of the student’s creativity and additionally their knowledge of syllables to create beautiful examples of Haiku.
