FAREWELL YEAR 12- 2021

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CLASS OF 2021

On Tuesday the 19th of October we celebrated and farewelled our Year 12 Class of 2021. Whilst the day was not what we had initially envisioned (due to restrictions), our student leaders and staff worked together to create a day that was both special and unique for our graduating Year 12 VCE and VCAL students. Our sincere thanks go to Ms Sue Holderness (Year 12 Coordinator) and Mrs Brooke Davies (Student Leadership Coordinator) for all their work in making a very memorable day for the students.

Whilst we as a college are proud of all the outstanding academic achievements our class of 2021 have accomplished this year, we are more proud of the personal growth that each and every student has undergone as a result of this pandemic. The class of 2021 are unique in that they have undertaken a large proportion of their VCE or VCAL Program from a remote learning landscape; it is for this reason, students’ should be particularly proud of themselves.

We wish our resilient Class of 2021 all the very best in their upcoming exams, and we look forward to celebrating with all students and their families at the forthcoming Valedictory celebration in December.

Year 12 Ceramic Tile Decoration Activity

The annual Year 12 commemorative ceramic tile designing and decorating activity was held as a feature of their Celebration Day on Tuesday 19th October. It was a fitting finale which for most students signalled the end of six years at our College.

This tradition was inaugurated in 2014, with each successive Year 12 trying to out-do the last with their creative and dedicated application of decorative glazes. These tiles will be kiln-fired before being mounted outside the SLC as a distinctive feature to immortalise these 82 young adults. The finished product will be revealed at this year’s Valedictory Dinner.

As always, staff were impressed by the quality of artistic merit as well as how diligently each student applied themselves to the task.
