Leadership Report

Welcome back to what will be a busy and exciting Term 4. There is always lots to do and things get a bit frantic as we work towards a successful end of the year. Please make sure you check our calendar (via the website) to ensure you keep up to date about the many happenings this term.

Staff and students have had a terrific day participating in our Slime Run which is our major fundraising event for the year. Students are still able to collect donations for another week. We'll provide a wrap up of the day along with some great pictures in our next newsletter.

Our class placement process is well underway. Thank you to parents and caregivers for providing the required information necessary to help us with this huge task. If your circumstances change, please let us know as soon as possible.  An email to the front office staff would be much appreciated.

You may be aware that Daphne Schumacher will be retiring at the end of the year. I'm pleased to announce that Daniela Lawlor has won the Deputy Principal position beginning in 2022. Daniela is currently the Deputy Principal at Glen Osmond Primary School.  I'm also pleased to announce that Julie Greenfield has been appointed as a teacher at Magill School starting 2022. Julie comes to us from Roxby Downs Area School and is very excited to be working here next year. She's already had a couple of visits and will be here for our 2022 class visits in the last week of school. We're still working through other positions and will update you as appointments are made.

As previously mentioned, despite community perception, government guidelines for schools have not really changed since August in relation to COVID restrictions. I understand the frustration of parents and caregivers and assure you that we will open up our events and celebrations when it is safe to do so. Magill Staff are appreciative and thankful for your understanding.

We will be filming our Instrumental Music Concert next week and streaming it to families on Monday 1st November. We are hopeful that restrictions may ease before we have to make a call on parent attendance at our concert and graduations. Lets hope the coming weeks brings some good news on that front.

Kind regards
