Dunhelen

Mrs Francis Scuderi
Welcome to Term 4. I hope that students and families managed to get some rest and exercise, and as the weather held out, I hope that you got to spend a lot of time outdoors.
Home Learning Update
We will be continuing with Home Learning for a couple more weeks. Staggered onsite learning for Dunhelen is due to commence on Tuesday 26 October. In the interim, however, students have been reminded that they should continue to try their hardest, and they have been encouraged to keep a routine and seek assistance if needed. The Home Learning routine may be a little different to when the students are onsite, however, it is beneficial for wellbeing that routines are maintained.
House Art Competition
The House Art Competition is underway, and students are encouraged to submit a work of art to earn points for their house. There will also be gift card awarded to the winning piece. Please encourage your child to involve themselves in activities offered by the College. Dunhelen has held many House challenges, particularly during this lockdown, and it has been interesting to note the change in the House ‘score’ board. A couple of Houses are really coming through and participating greatly in the challenges.
Dunhelen Leadership Positions 2022
Students have been invited to nominate themselves for leadership positions for 2022. There are a range of captaincy positions open to them. We are hoping to see some wonderful nominations. Please do speak to your child about putting themselves out there and maybe venturing a little out of their comfort zone. Interviews will be held this term and we are hoping to have the Dunhelen student leadership team announced near the end of term. Please note that there is a selection process in place and not all students will be interviewed. We are seeking students who have displayed a positive attitude to the College and to their learning. Students should also have demonstrated a respect for all College values, have good communication skills, been involved in a variety of areas of College life and have displayed perseverance and resilience in all areas. I wish all the nominees good luck.
World Mental Health Day
World Mental Health Day is Sunday 10 October. A reminder that we need to be taking care of ourselves and each other. Lots more information about Mental Health Day can be found at the link below.

We are looking forward to welcoming the students back onsite soon and know that many of them are wanting to be here also.
Stay safe.
