NETBALL CARNIVAL

Rachelle DeFazio, Briony Bryant & Kass Holmes, Teachers

Port Noarlunga Netball Club - 20 August

Year 8/9 Netball Team

This team was formed late with the girls hardly knowing each other. After the first game, introductions were made, position and tactics shared. The girls played five short 10 minute half games and fought hard each game growing in confidence and determination.

Unfortunately the team lost each game, some only by the smallest of margins. The girls conducted themselves demonstrating team spirit, mutual respect and consistently displaying the school values.

Year 10 Netball Team

The Year 10 netball team played three games across the day. We came up against a very strong team of Encounter Bay in our first game. Despite playing a very solid four quarters with some excellent plays across the whole court, we were unable to come away with a win.

Our next game was against Investigator College. Our team banded together extremely well in this game. We were really strong in all positions on court and were able to hold on to a win by one goal. It was a really good, well fought game.

Our last game was against Reynella East. All players played really well and we were able to keep them to a small score in the first quarter, however they were too strong for us in the end.

Well done to all the players.

Briony Bryant

Open Netball

The Open Girls netball team played five games for the day and found themselves in close competition all day with every team they competed against. For our year 11 team they played exceptionally well against teams with year 12s filling all positions.

The umpires were impressed with the Open Girls team spirit and determination. They demonstrated the school values all day of care and compassion, honesty and respect. Tahlia was an excellent captain listening to her team mates and always encouraging them to do their best. Having a 17th birthday celebration meant the girls had to find time to sing and have cake. Their friendly and positive attitude made the day fun and rewarding for all.
