Assessment & Rating

Well Done Curiosity Team!

On Thursday the 6th of May, Curiosity received it's draft report based on the Authorised Officers observations and interviews of our staff and learning community.  It was a rather intense couple of days as our practice, procedures and policies were put to the test.

There are not enough words to describe how proud I am of our team, of whom only two of us had ever been through this process personally.  This team of women go above and beyond each day for your children with a genuine love, care and interest in what each child has to contribute to our learning community.

Here are a few comments the Authorised Officers made about our team and what they observed.

"Authorised officer's would like to acknowledge the service's commitment to the National Quality Standards and quality practice to provide outcomes for their children and families.  The AO would also like to acknowledge the service's effort in demonstrating one or more Exceeding themes in multiple Standards within their first year of operating."

"Educators follow children's ideas, interests and suggestions to extend their learning and participation in line with Reggio Emilia principles."

"Interactions observed between the educators and children supported each child to feel secure, confident and included."

"Educators were observed respectfully engaging in children's play and responding to cues."

"The dignity and the rights of each child are maintained."

We celebrate that within our first year of operation with all the challenges a world pandemic presented for us, that we have received the rating of 'Meeting' with acknowledgement of some exceeding elements.

This would not have been possible without the dedication of the Staff Team for 2020, the partnership and support of our Management and Support team at the school, the current Staff Team for 2021 and the families and children of Curiosity.  Your words of encouragement, praise and genuine care for us were felt and appreciated.
