Day One for Year 7s

Year 7s Day 1

A warm welcome

We would like to extend a warm welcome to our new students and their families. We hope that the beginning of their journey at Northcote High School will be a memorable and rewarding experience.

As Day One began, there was a buzz of nerves and excitement as our new students begin to become familiar with their new surroundings. All students began the day with a Year Level Assembly and the Year 7s spent some extra time with their Connect groups before starting their first classes. We look forward to a year that will hopefully bring lots of happiness, academic success, new friendships and plenty of exciting experiences to extend and challenge.

We are sure that the first weeks will fly by and some things may even be a blur. However, it will not take long until the wonderful atmosphere that Northcote High School has to offer will be absorbed. Get involved in sport, music, chess club, production, debating and so much more.

There are many things to look forward to over the coming months… the Dot Com workshops, Year 7 Camp and the ‘Fun Days’ all provide an opportunity to strengthen friendships with new class mates as well as meeting many new friends. It is a time to get away and enjoy the many fun activities organised.

New students should remember that there are many people who can help guide you through the first few weeks at school. We have the wonderful support of our Year 10 Peer Support Leaders. Speak to them, as they too can remember their first couple of weeks of school and share some helpful tips. In addition, your teachers and Year Level Program Leaders are keen to guide you through the new experience.
