Enrolments for 2022

We have commenced our planning for 2022 and confirming places for new students to start in Term 1, 2022. Unless we have been advised, we are assuming that all current students will be returning to the College in 2022.

If a student is not returning to the College, in line with the enrolment policy, one term’s notice in writing is required. If the notice is not received on time, one term’s tuition fees in lieu of notice will be charged. This requirement is clearly noted in the Enrolment Agreement Form which all parents/guardians signed when their child(ren) was enrolled.

To assist our planning please advise the College by Friday 17th September 2021 if a student is not returning to the College in 2022. The notice should be addressed to the College Registrar and can be sent via email to registrar@standrews.vic.edu.au  It will be helpful to receive this notice as soon as possible as it will allow us to offer any vacant places to students on our waiting lists.

If there are siblings of current students wanting to enrol at the College, it is important that parents submit an Application for Admission two years prior to the planned year of entry. This allows the College to provide a priority place for siblings of current students. Siblings are not guaranteed a place if the Application for Admission is late. Late applicants will be placed onto the waiting list.

Please do not hesitate to speak with the Registrar, Mrs Suzy Song (8847 8309) if you have any concerns regarding this information or if you need clarification in any way.

Presentation Night Changes For 2021

As the College continues to grow and as we have moved into a Primary and Secondary model – there are times to reconsider what we do and how we can improve.

Just because we have done things in certain ways (in our teaching/special events etc) in the past, doesn’t mean we continue to do things in the same way.

We don’t change for the sake of change, especially if something is going well, but we need to always reflect on what we do and seek the best way in going forward (within our limits, finances, resources).

As educators we understand that reflection is a very important step in learning, and we need to keep questioning ourselves and each other with such questions as:

What way is best for the whole College or whole class (not what is best and easiest for myself)? How are we honouring God and glorifying Him in this practice/decision? How can we improve?

On reflection and due to our growing College community, the ELT have decided to change the format of our end of year celebration evening – Presentation Night! 😊

This year, Presentation Night will be split into a Primary and Secondary event.

  • The Primary Event (Yvonne Hughes in-charge) will take place in the MPH on Monday 6th December starting at 9:15am.
  • The Secondary Event (John Present in-charge) will take place on Monday 6th December at 7:30pm (venue TBC).

We look forward to both events!

Blessings to you all,

Coming Soon - Macaron Fundraiser

St Andrews Netball Club is planning to run a fundraiser and we will be selling macarons made by De’Medici Macarons.

Flavours will include creme brulee, passionfruit, honeycomb and strawberry milkshake plus we will have a vegan option with passionfruit and chocolate and they will be $25 per dozen.

Our aim is to raise funds to further develop our club, which include: running netball skill clinics to build confidence in our players and strengthen our teams; provide equipment for our teams as needed – netball balls are desperately needed.

We are hoping to send out order forms at the start of Term 3 and the orders will be delivered to the students in mid-August.

Let your friends and family know and help support our club!

PFA Update

On behalf of the Parents and Friends Association (“PFA”) I would like to wish all families an enjoyable and safe holiday period.

Unfortunately due the recent lockdown (as well as the snap lockdown in February) and the uncertainty in relation to the scope of restrictions implemented by the Government, the PFA has had to suspend planned community events so far this year. We are hopeful that as we emerge from yet another lockdown, new opportunities will present themselves for us to organise some Community activities in the second half of 2021.

We are thankful however that we could still remain connected and involved through our wonderful families and PFA community helping with College based activities such as Icy Pole Fridays, PMP and the inaugural House Cross Country event.

It is important to remember that although the COVID-19 environment creates isolation periods, it is critical that people continue to communicate and support each other wherever possible, whether that be in person or via technological means.

St Andrews is a school with a strong community spirit, and I encourage everyone to continue to help and support others in their time of need. We look forward to once again being able to come together as a Community in the near future.

Best Regards
