Forty days after Easter we celebrate the Ascension. In Scripture the number 40 is a very significant number. It signifies a length of time after which there is a monumental change. For example: Lent lasts for 40 days, the Exodus journey from Egypt lasted 40 years, the great flood saw Noah on his ark for 40 days. 40 days after  Jesus' resurrection we see Jesus leave his friends to join His Father in heaven but not before asking them to continue His work in the world. We are all invited into a new way of living that deepens our loving relationship and belief in Jesus  as our Saviour. With the strength and guidance of the Holy Spirit we are entrusted to spread the Good News.

Pope Francis, in his teaching, continually breaks open for us what it means to proclaim the Good News to all nations in our time. He sees our task today as bringing to birth a new culture and society.

Pope Francis suggests some ‘real’ questions that ought to matter to us as followers of Christ, guiding us to take up his mission.

We can ask ourselves:

How much love do I put into my work?

What do I do for the progress of our people?

What mark am I leaving on the life of society?

What real bonds am I creating?

What positive forces am I unleashing?

How much social peace am I sowing?

What good am I achieving in the position entrusted to me?

One way our school community is spreading the Good News, is by your generous donations to those less fortunate than us through the 'Be More' Caritas Campaign. Our school was able to raise over $600 from the return of the donation boxes. A huge thank you to those who generously contributed.
