Year 2 - Excursion to the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery | Friday 28 May

Year 2 will be visiting the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery on Friday 28 May as part of our inquiry into How we express ourselves. The purpose of this visit is to view various artworks so students develop their own understandings and interpretations using their knowledge of artistic elements. Our intention is to explore the museum in small groups and then meet in the museum courtyard for lunch. We will leave the school by bus at 9.30am and return to school at 12.00pm. We would love families to be part of this experience, however, we are only permitted to take three additional adults for each class. If you are interested in joining us for the excursion could you please email your child’s classroom teacher.

We will travel by bus to Knocklofty Reserve, the bus will park at the top end of Forest Road, West Hobart. Children are encouraged to wear gumboots or sturdy shoes as well as a beanie as the days get colder. School uniform at Morris

As we approach the middle of Term 2 we would like to remind all families of our expectations regarding the way students wear their uniform at school. Some of the notable observations include: the wearing of visible long sleeved tops underneath the formal uniform, branded socks, skate shoes and multi-coloured hair ties. Students may wear a watch, a ring and plain studs/sleepers. No other jewellery or nail polish is permitted. We ask that you look at the School’s Uniform Policy on page 23 in the Morris Handbook and we hope that with your support we will be able to help our students dress in a way that represents the School respectfully.
