Feeling Sick? Please stay home

At The Friends’ School, the safety, health and welfare of our students, staff and parents remain our highest priority. We have noticed a rise in coughs and colds at the School in recent weeks so if your child is feeling unwell, please keep them home to rest.

We have hand sanitiser stations at various locations around the School and we ask our community to remain vigilant with hand hygiene practices, particularly as we are now entering flu season.

Principal's Address to the Association

The purpose of the Principal's Address in May each year is to provide an update to the Association on the status of The Friends' School. For those of you who might not know who the Association is, the Association consists of current and former Board members and interstate Quaker members of Board committees who are current members of The Religious Society of Friends. Their membership in the Association is for life, or until they otherwise indicate that they no longer wish to be a member of the Association. The Association serves as the ‘owners’ of The Friends’ School.

Community members are welcome to read the full addresshere.

School Choice Survey

Independent Schools Australia (ISA) has released their School Choice Survey. ISA periodically undertakes research into factors influencing school choice. The research aims to identify what families consider important when choosing a school (Independent, Catholic or government), what they value about the school in which their children are currently enrolled, the reasons why some families choose not to enrol their children at an Independent school and their voting preferences. They are also interested in overall impressions of Independent schools as compared to government and Catholic schools and the impacts of COVID-19 on parents’ choice of school. It is intended that the research design and survey questions allow for comparison with ISA’s previous national research which means that while the survey has been updated and includes new questions about the impact of, for example, COVID-19 and social media on school choice, many questions are consistent with those asked five years ago.

You can complete the survey here.
