Nature Art activities this week...
The Junior School have enjoyed experimenting with different painting techniques using their fingers and even sponges!! Inspired by a picture story book 'Red Leaf, Yellow Leaf,' students created two art pieces that embrace Autumn time. It was wonderful to see students working well together in these activities.
Physical Vibe News
Junior School - The students have continued to work on their fundamental movement skills and ball control through a range of tabloid style activities. The students have loved showcasing their skills individually and are progressing towards partner work.
Middle School - The students have been playing modified games that incorporate throwing, catching and teamwork skills. A favourite has been ‘Stop’ which is a modified game similar to kickball where the fielding team have to work together to get the ball back to the pitcher before the runner gets the whole way around the diamond. It has been great to see students communicating and sharing the strategies they use when playing the different games.
Senior School - The students have been looking at different target games and the skills and strategies associated with them. Students have incorporated their throwing, rolling and striking skills to create their own target games that use different striking implements, support inclusivity and contain a scoring system. It has been impressive to see their creativity and enthusiasm in explaining their target games to their peers.

Nature Play
We were so lucky to have Aunty Karan from Yimba Yumba visit the Foundation to Year 2 students to celebrate Reconciliation Week. They took part in the Wayapa Program which provides an opportunity to be immersed in culture and to understand Connection to Country and Community the Aboriginal way.
Kitchen Garden
It seems like forever since we have been in the garden so we had lots of maintenance to attend to such as weeding and pruning. It doesn't matter what we do in the garden we all just love being outside and active! In the kitchen we made pizza dough and cooked pizza. I for one will never by pizza bases again because our dough was amazing.
Environmental Science
We have been continuing to work on our Wildlife Corridor designs and have also started looking at biodiversity in the school grounds. We searched for animals and insects and then classified them as either consumers or producers and discussed the importance of animal relationships.
