INQUIRY
During Term Two our year five and six students have been focusing on the Inquiry topic of Creativity. This falls under the curriculum area of Media Arts/Speaking & Listening and Critical & Creative Thinking.
The Essential Questions that we focused on during the term are:
- What are some different media arts genres?
- How are digital stories (including film) and different media arts elements developed?
- What are some of the processes involved?
- How could you plan, produce and present your own digital story?
- What responsibilities do you have to produce this story appropriately and ethically?
- How can images, sound, effects and other elements be used to enhance digital media?
- How can we develop criteria to review media arts stories?
Here are a few pictures of our students at different stages of the Inquiry process.
Stages
Each group had to complete the following stages of production of their short film:
- Story board
- Script
- Rehearsal
- Costumes - dress rehearsal
- Filming
- Editing
- Preview
- Release
MATHEMATICS
During Remote Learning our students completed a unit on Three Dimensional shapes. The focus was on understanding and learning the properties of a mixture of shapes: vertices, edges and faces. Once we returned to school, students had the opportunity to construct and build a range of three dimensional shapes.
Home Learning during Term Two
Students have completed many pieces of work linked to our curriculum areas of English (Reading, Writing and Spelling), mixed Maths and Inquiry tasks.
Thank You
We would like to extend our sincere thank you to all of the families, for your support during the term. It has had its challenges but we have all worked together and experienced many pleasing experiences. We hope you all have a well deserved break. See you back in the classroom at the start of Term Three.
