End of Term Two in Year Two!

It's hard to believe we are at the end of the term, and half way through the year! It has been an exciting term for everyone.

This term in Inquiry students have been learning about Forces. Students investigated different types of push and pull forces and how to use forces to create movement. Students explored the characteristics and properties of materials and components. They completed a range of hands-on activities and experiments to see different forces being used. Students loved participating in the parachute experiment and trying to make Blu-Tack float.

Students then applied their knowledge to design and build their own creation out of materials to complete a challenge. Their challenge was to use a force to move a hollow chocolate egg without breaking it. We are happy to report only two eggs were broken and one fell overboard into the tub of water. The students thoroughly enjoyed all the activities completed this term.

Crazy Hair Day

It was so great to see so many Year Two students come to school on Monday with their crazy hair!

Thank you to everyone for all your amazing support this term particularly during the period of Remote Learning. We are continually grateful for the kindness and support that is shown by our parents and students alike when faced with such potentially adverse moments.

We hope you all have a lovely break and we can't wait to see all the students in Term Three!

Take Home Readers

As part of InitiaLit-2, students have free-choice of short and extended chapter books to take home and read. Year Two students are able to choose two readers from school to take home and read nightly. Students in Year Two are also free to choose books from home to read each night if they wish. We urge families to read daily to help support the learning that is happening within the classroom.

Students who choose their readers on a Monday are required to return them on Friday the same week.
