I am a Scientist!
Throughout Term Two, the students have become little scientists and have been excitedly investigating the role of a scientist, why science is important in everyday life and how we use science in our daily lives. We have also been discovering that objects are made of materials that have observable properties that can be physically changed or combined with other materials in a variety of ways.
Through a variety of engaging learning activities, we have been investigating the following questions:
- What is a scientist?
- Why is science important?
- How does science relate to my world?
- What words can I use to describe the properties of materials?
- What materials are objects made from? Is the object a liquid, solid or gas?
Students have enjoyed the opportunity to:
- Use their senses to explore the world around them
- Participate in a variety of experiments including making crystals, coke and mentos explosion, dancing sultanas, naked eggs, and blow up a balloon
- Observe and explore physical and chemical changes
- Act like scientists by making predictions and recording the changes they observed during experiments
- Communicate and compare their findings and observations with others.

CRAZY HAIR AND SPECIAL LUNCH
What an amazing day we had! We saw all sorts of crazy hair creations - coke bottles, muffins, fire, gold, crazy plaits, colours and glitter as far as the eye could see and even some Lego! The effort and creativity that was put into all the crazy hair was absolutely amazing - great job everyone!! Everyone enjoyed their Special Lunches and lots of fun was had by everyone. Thank-you to our wonderful PTA for all of your efforts on the day.
THANK YOU!!
We wanted to take the time to say a massive THANKYOU to you all! We appreciate your flexibility, kindness and support both whilst we have been teaching face-to-face, teaching remotely or without power (what a crazy term!). We are so grateful to be a part of such a fantastic school community!
We can’t wait to see you all for an exciting Term Three - have a fantastic break and we will see you in two weeks.
