Deputy Principal's News

Dear Parents and Carers,

We are quickly approaching the end of Semester 1.  By now, classroom and specialist teachers have finalised assessing student knowledge and understanding in order to write reports.   Each student will receive a formal written school report on the 21st June to coincide with our Parent Teacher interviews (online) which will take place on 24th June from 1.30pm onwards.

We will be using the nForma Parent Portal to electronically share your child/ren’s academic report/s with you.  Prior to the reports being published on the Parent Portal, all parents will receive an email explaining how to access and set up your password. If you created a password at the end of last year, this will be reset 24 - 48 hours prior to Semester 1, 2021 reports being published.  At this stage it is anticipated that all 2020 Parent Portal passwords will be reset from Wednesday 16th June, once reset, you will receive a Create Access email from no-reply@nforma.com.au (so please check your spam if you do not receive it).  Following the prompts on the email will guide you in creating access and setting up your login details, thus enabling access to all academic reports for your child which are currently on nForma.  Important to note, that once your child leaves St James, his/her academic reports will be archived and you will no longer have direct access via the nForma Parent portal.  Therefore nForma advises all parents/carers to download a copy of all academic reports via the portal and print them off for future reference.  The school will always have access to all archived reports.

In order for the Semester 1 reports to be shared digitally, it is imperative that the school have your up to date contact details, in particular your email addresses.  If you have recently updated or changed your email address, can you please update your details on Operoo and inform Imelda or Ange at info@stjamesbrighton.catholic.edu.au

Further information will be sent out via email mid next week on accessing your child’s academic report for Semester 1.

If there are any queries, please do not hesitate in contacting the school.

We look forward to welcoming the students back to school next week.

Kind regards,

Carmelina Corio

Parent Teacher Interviews - Thursday 24th June, 2021

In light of current government restrictions we have decided to conduct all Parent Teacher Interviews this term using the online format.  Please refer to the correspondence shared via email, and head to the school website to make an appointment.

COVID-19 Safety at School

At St James we have put a number of strategies in place to reduce the risk of transmission.  No one strategy is 100% effective.

Here are just some of the ways we are doing to keep our Students, School community and Staff safe and well.

In light of current restrictions and inline with our School COVID Safety we ask that you respect and follow the following guidelines.

Service Victoria QR Code and Face Masks

We kindly ask that all parents, carers and contractors and volunteers check-in using the Service Vic QR code displayed and wear a mask when entering the school building.

Thank you.

Self Isolating during the COVID-19 Pandemic

Can we kindly ask that if you or your family are required to self isolate during these times, that you inform the school via info@stjamesbrighton.catholic.edu.au so that we can offer any assistance possible.

Thank you!

 Social Distancing

Thank you to all parents and carers who are helping the community to stay safe and healthy by keeping 1.5m apart at drop off and pick up times.

Although physical distancing will not apply to students in class, it does still apply to staff and parents. Therefore we ask that you respect our requests to minimise contact and continue with social distancing during drop off and pick ups, adults will also need to adhere to wearing masks when in public places including drop off and pick up when it is not possible to socially distance.
