School Production 2020/21

The latest…

Early in the year we embarked upon a school production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream with dancers, singers, musicians, designers and actors on board from Years 7-11 together with a small team of staff. We were off to an amazing start when Covid-19 hit us in March.

We are cautiously proposing to get the play up and running with some rehearsals with our cast and crew after the Year 11 exams. We would aim to maintain the cast as of March and get lines and action up to speed before we go on our summer break. This production will be a smaller scale piece which we will stage at school either under the new cage roof or in The Blackbox theatre and will be presented in late March with appropriate audience numbers.

We aim to stage a full-scale musical later in the year to further celebrate the Preshil community, their resilience and positive energy when musicians, dancers and singers will be able to play a major part in the production alongside actors and crew. Students and staff are coming up with lots of exciting ideas and we’ll keep you posted about the choice of musical.

We know what wonderful experiences are created when we get together and perform and we look forward to working with our students and staff on these proposed performances where we invite you, our wider community, to celebrate the arts with us in 2021.
