BE INVOLVED, BE CONNECTED

Your name?

Adriana Brudan

What grade is your child in?

2/3D

What do you do for work?

Logistics Planning & Reporting Analyst for Lion Dairy & Drinks

How have you set yourself up to work from home?

I had a dedicated area in my bedroom with a desk. With home learning we got an ergonomic desk and I shared that with my daughter, Alberta. Being close to her has allowed me to keep an eye on her schedule and progress while completing my work. When I had key meetings I would move to another room and kids would be on their own.

How are you looking after your wellbeing while working from home?

We do our best to keep a routine, walking at lunchtime and getting a bit of sunlight everyday. We try to keep the rhythm of the day. If it goes off track we reset the next day.

We have some mindfulness talks and guided meditation at the end of the day. It has helped me let go of some of the expectations that can't be met right now.

Dancing is big in our family. We often had disco parties or the girls were putting on a show for us.

We video called friends and families often and we tried virtual playmates for a while.

We have started cooking and explored with simple recipes.

Our indoor collection of plants has grown a bit over the lockdown, easy care plants, more for air purification.

What is one thing you are grateful for over the last week?

Every family that has submitted a recipe for our Family & Friends Cookbook Initiative. :-) Thank you.

What are some of the things you’re most passionate about and most enjoy?

I enjoy taking care of some plants on my balcony. Lavender is in bloom now and it is quite lovely.

I am passionate about Sustainability and taking care of our precious planet for our future generations. That is why I am part of the SMPPS Sustainability team.

I enjoy riding my bike for leisure, nothing too competitive. It is great for my health and for the benefit of everyone else as I reduce my carbon footprint.

Picnics in the Botanical Garden and at the beach are a great way to relax with the girls. They love nature exploring and filling my pockets with rocks, shells, flowers, leaves ...

Having two girls I am very much passionate about ensuring this world becomes more diverse and less gender biased. I read and listen to books/podcasts that help me form an educated view on the diversity subject as well as how to be a better parent.

Favourite food or dish?

As a main, Tuna steak with wild rice and orange sauce.

For desert, Tiramisu.

Favourite song, band or movie?

I really enjoy "Ain't Got No, I Got Life" - Nina Simone and Sia - anything.

Movie, great for couples: "Force Majeure" Directed by Ruben Östlund. Worth it.

What are you planning to do over the school holidays?

Hoping to be able to see the sea even if it is just in Victoria.

What is the funniest thing that has happened during home learning?

I can't remember. I need more sleep.
