Classroom News

Junior Class

This week the juniors have been continuing to learn about health and safety.  We had a visit from Miss Williams’ two puppies and learnt all about how to approach a dog when out on the street or at someone else's house.  We have started a new book called ‘Girl on Wire’ and have been looking at the nouns and verbs in the book.  We have also worked on making our own poppies in class for Remembrance Day and learning about what the poppy is symbolic of.

Senior Class

This week the seniors have engaged in a lot of reflection and being grateful for the incredible Country we live in.  We have been exploring the NAIDOC Week theme ‘Always was, Always will be’, and the importance of Remembrance Day.  This week has been a fantastic chance for the students to reflect on our community, Australia and the wider world.  2020 has given the seniors an insight into how lucky we are and important it is to support one another!

Did you know that Nhill means “early morning mist rising over water’!

The following students were recognised this week for their reading achievements:

25 nights - Zara, Georgia
75 nights - Thar Shue
100 nights - Claire

Little Joey

This week we continue to acknowledge the significant role of the "Brown Joeys" in the establishment of St Patrick's School, and recognised Kaw Mu and AJ with Little Joey awards.

Our Little Joeys receive a certificate, sticker and a voucher/goods donated by a local business.  This week's vouchers were donated by Wimmera Bakery.  We are very grateful for the contributions from our local businesses.
