Middle School Update
On behalf of the Middle School Leadership Team I would like to thank all parents/carers for their ongoing support during 2021. As a community we have continued to work together to ensure that our students continue to learn and achieve their best. It has been brilliant to see students return to onsite learning and we look forward to supporting students to be successful for the remainder of the school year.

We were very happy to welcome our Year Seven students back to school this term. They have settled back to on-site learning extremely well. They have been working hard to establish their set routines and expectations with a few new changes such as mask wearing and socially distancing covid safe practices. We also ran our first official virtual year level assembly last week which was a fun and new experience where we celebrated our return to school. 128 students in year seven are sitting on 100% attendance for this term which is amazing! Those students have each won 300 house points for their house.
Students used the first few weeks to settle back into school without any other year levels which was a great way for them to get re-acquainted with the school environment. Although our year sevens have had a tough first year of high school, we have been incredibly proud of their hard work and resilience both during remote learning and with their on-site transition. Well done to all of our year sevens!
Students have also been building their study skills during Wellbeing classes this term to prepare them for later years of schooling. Students are learning about organisation and how to plan their study time, along with information to do with their individual learning style. These skills are transferable and will better equip them for their futures.
Just a reminder that students should be in their full summer uniform as of Monday, including black, leather school shoes. Students should only wear their PE uniform on days that they have PE. Please remember to provide your child with a note should they be out of uniform for any particular reason.
We thank you for your ongoing support during what has been a tough year and we greatly appreciate all that you do to assist us as a College.

WOW! What a year it has been.
It is great to have all the year 9’s on site and we were very impressed with their ability to not only remember where their lockers were but also their lock combinations!
Remote learning was difficult for many students (and some teachers!) but we hope the students are feeling positive about being back in a classroom and being able to see their friends and teachers again. It has been really fantastic to see the students back out on the basketball courts playing matches, on the oval playing soccer and interacting with each other!
We were lucky to have ABC News come out and interview some students about how they were feeling about being back on site. Emily D in year 9 spoke very well and it was a thrill to see her on the news representing the school in such a positive manner.
It was exciting to start conversations with parents and students about subject selections for 2021. There were lots of conversations around the opportunities that the Year 9’s will get to experience next year in their first year of senior school! Many students were happy to hear about the camp and formal! It is a very exciting time for the students, parents and teachers of ECSC to see 2021 evolve in front of our eyes and for the students to start building their study and career paths next year!
We know the transition back to onsite learning has been a struggle for many students but it is important that the students arrive to class on time and with the correct resources including fully charged devices and a water bottle. The drinking taps have been turned off, but the student’s have the opportunity to fill their water bottles in the STEM and Admin building.
Now that the shops have opened up it is critical that students wear the correct uniform. During term 4 students should be wearing the summer uniform. Sports uniform should only be worn on days when students have a double session of PE.
The summer uniform consists of:
