All the best to students commencing exams this week

Unit 4 exams commence this week, and will be going through to the 30th of November.  It goes without saying that there have been many a challenge for our unit 4 students throughout the year, but the exam period has finally arrived.  On behalf of the entire college community I wish all of our year 12 and year 11 students who are sitting exams all the very best for their exams.

Booklists and subject selections

We are a little behind our schedule with our subject selection process and subsequent booklist creation - these will be out as soon as possible.  Thank you for your patience with this process.

NAIDOC Week

NAIDOC Week is being celebrated this week.  Normally acknowledged in July, the week has been moved due to the Covid-19 restrictions earlier in the year.  The week is to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life.

Please visit https://www.naidoc.org.au/ for information about the week and for ideas on how to celebrate our country's rich heritage and culture.

Social media and friend requests

A reminder to all families please that it is not appropriate for students to be sending friend requests to school staff via any social media platform.  It is important for both staff and student that there is a clear line between school and outside of school and that professional limits are maintained.  I realise that in smaller regional communities where people know each other through other outlets (sporting teams, community groups etc.) this can be challenging, but all efforts need to be made to maintain this professional distance.  Please discuss this with your child and support the school in this process.

Bus travellers - arrival at school

Another reminder to all families that bus travel is provided to and from school.  Students must only get off the bus at school in the mornings, and stay at school.  Walking down the street or getting off the bus earlier is not allowed.  This is a legal duty of care requirement - once students commence travel to school in the mornings on the bus or walking, the legal duty of care rests with the school.

Please talk with your child and remind them that once the bus delivers them at school, they must stay at school.  Thank you for your support in this matter.
