Team Around the Learner

At the end of each semester the importance of our Team Around the Learner is highlighted as our staff collaborate to prepare student reports.  I take this opportunity to acknowledge the additional workload teachers and therapists are currently undertaking as they complete the 2020 Semester 2 assessment and reporting requirements.

The Department of Education and Training has recently adjusted the expectations around student reporting for Semester 2 in recognition of the continued disruption caused by COVID-19. While Belmore School has continued to deliver a teaching and learning program and monitor the learning of each student, we have adjusted our usual program to reflect the recent periods of remote and flexible delivery. 

Belmore School will therefore provide a simplified report for the parent/carer of each student enrolled at the school for Semester 2, 2020 focusing on what progress has been made and what has been achieved by each child.  Reports are currently being developed in an electronic format to enable inclusion of both photos and video to ensure we can highlight and celebrate the achievements of our students despite the many challenges this year has presented.

Formal SSG meetings, not normally provided in Term 4, will be offered through an online format during week 10 beginning Monday 7 December.  Teachers will liaise directly with parents and carers to organise meetings of a mutually convenient time.
