Pastoral Care Worker News

Christmas can be a tricky time for a lot of families, and especially in this year of 2020, in which Covid has hit. We now may have a second wave which is very concerning, and it can be a source of alarm for the children in your care as well as all of us.  Can I just suggest that you keep as calm as possible at this time for the sake of your children.  We have a good track record in our state so far, so let’s all remain as positive as we can and work together to help your children navigate the rest of the school year with as much peace as possible. I would suggest not having the News on in front of younger children, but of-course, you know your children better than anyone. Please let me know if your children are overly anxious so that I can touch base with them here at school.

The other thing that I would like to tell you is that I will be retiring from my position at the end of the year. I have been here for the last 5 years and I also worked at McLaren Vale in this role for ten years before that. I can’t believe how the time has flown.

I would like to extend my thanks to you all for your support of Chaplaincy in this school. It can be a tricky role at times, but very rewarding and I have enjoyed my time at Hackham East Primary School immensely. It has been wonderful working with you and your children on this journey over the last 5 years. All of the students I have worked with have been amazing, as well as the staff who go above and beyond to make this school great.

A big Thank you to all the Parents who have supported me and helped me over the years. I will miss everyone a lot but I am hoping to come in as a Volunteer during the year, so you may bump into me from time to time.

A new CPS Worker has been appointed and she is visiting the school on Friday, 4/12.  This will be at our last Parent Afternoon Tea so come along to meet her and have a chat. I am sure that you will make her as welcome as me.

Take good care of yourself and your family at this busy time of the year.

Parent Afternoon Tea

There will be no afternoon tea this Friday 20/11.

Love and Blessings.

Cherie Love, Pastoral Care Worker
