Staff Interview

Kate Morrison Year 1 teacher

What exciting news do you have to share?

I am so excited to be having a baby in December this year!

How long have you worked at BNPS-

This is my 11th year at BNPS and I have loved every moment of it!

Who inspires you-

My beautiful mum! She has four girls and five grandchildren (sixth on the way) and always has so much love, energy and kindness to give everyone. Her strength and love for life is admirable and she is always there for me.

What have your learnt about yourself during this pandemic-

How lucky I am to have so many beautiful people in my life. My husband has been working from home this whole time and it has been lovely to see each other during the day. I am so grateful now for little things, like seeing my family and catching up with friends. The little things really matter! My mum has been dropping off a meal to me every week and it is so kind!

How did you cope with remote learning-

By having my beautiful dog Louis by my side (even though he slept and snored all day long) and going on walks together down at the beach, even though I now waddle more than walk.

What is your favourite thing to do on the weekends-

I am so excited that cafes are opening up as I love to catch up with family and friends and go out for coffee, brunch or lunch. I also love going for walks, watching movies and gardening!

What would you like to say to your class-

It has been such a big year with so many different challenges and I am so proud of my beautiful Year Ones! We have had a lot of fun guessing the size of the baby each week, laughing when I've had the hiccups and watching the baby grow! They are absolute superstars and I will really miss them.
