ASC League Tag

On Wednesday the 12th October, a few ASC students went to Inverell to play in the Greater Northern League Tag Gala Day. They came equal 2nd place in the U16 division. The girls showed great sportsmanship and skill on the field.

Thanks goes to Skye Gordon-Briggs for her coaching and to Mrs Drielsma for driving the bus.


Debating

Into the State Quarterfinals of the 9 & 10 Premier’s Debating Challenge!!

Today the girls successfully argued the negative side of “that we should ban private tutoring and coaching colleges for senior students”.


ASC would like to say a very big Congratulations to Alexis Vickery in year 7. 

Alexis's painting that she did, won the young archibald prize on the 16th June 2022 was picked as the book cover for a publication by local author Grant Berry, 

“Surviving Childhood”.

The launch was at UNE yesterday, 20th October 22.

Our ASC students who have been attending the Tamworth Regional Dance Festival.


ASC Taylor Chick-Sauer year 8 at the Tamworth Interschool Horse Extravaganza.

Taylor did extremely well as there were lots of competitors…

Combine Training: 3rd

Dressage: Preliminary 1b 1st, Preliminary 1c 2nd

Show Jumping: Accumulator 3rd, Am7 5th

Working Horse Challenge: 2nd out of 98 riders!!!

Sporting: Reserve over all 13yrs, Stock horse rider: 1st

Congratulations to Year 9 student Skye Vaughan who has been selected to be a student reporter for the upcoming Game Changer Challenge! Skye will travel to Sydney with our team who have made the finals to document the event. Skye will be mentored by industry professionals from the ABC and Adobe to create media content for the NSW DoE social media channels. Well done Skye!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


State Netball Finals…

The Year 8 boys have won their first game 22 to 9 against Nowra. They are played in Sydney.

The second game to Davidson High School 11 to 8.

They have come first in their pool, now playing semifinals.

They won 15 to 10 against Lismore 

Awesome effort boys 

Xavier Albury just beat ASC in a close game 14 to 10 the first semi.

They will play Davidson for 3rd place.

Close game they went down to Davidson 17 to 15, 4th in the state is awesome, the top 4 teams were really close games.

Well Done!!


State Dance Festival…

Jessica Ferris, Jarryd Cutmore, Tash Griffiths and Ms Hilary Pearson went to Sculptures by the Sea.


Tenterfield Horse Sports...

Good luck to our Equestrian team representing ASC at the Tenterfield Horse Sports.


2022 ATHLETE OF THE YEAR:

 Sophie Parsons (cricket) 

Congratulations Sophie, Sophie is in the NSW Country U16 team, the NSW CHS team as well as the Northwest team for Girl’s Cricket. She also plays for Northern Districts in the Women’s Premier League and Brewer Shield.

Sophie is a batsmen of excellent talent with great hitting power and technique. She has a passion for the game of cricket, with a great understanding of the game and the role she can play as a leader. 

Congratulations Sophie what a champion you are !!!


ASC Myles Harris Yr 9 Futsal...

Another ASC student superstar Myles was originally chosen to go to China in 2020 along with a number of other ASC students. However COVID changed the world and they moved the tour to NZ. 12 days of playing and sightseeing. Auckland, Rotarua and Wellington. Lots of new friends. Played in the Auckland International tournament and lots of other little schools/clubs.

What a great achievement for Myles, well done!!


SOPHIE PARSONS

 

 

 

 

Sophie Parsons proudly raised the bat today after scoring 134 not out vs North Coast.

She was also the leading run scorer for the Championship.

At the conclusion of the Championship, Sophie was selected in the NSWCHS 1st XI team to compete at the All Schools Girls Cricket Championships in February 2023. 

Congratulations Sophie you are an amazing Athlete!!! 

Well done Sophie ASC is proud!!!!!
