The Resilience Project

As part of the Resilience Project our students have been learning this year about the importance of:

  • Gratitude - Paying attention to what you have – as opposed to focusing on the lack of something. It’s about being thankful for the little things in life and acknowledging what went well for you.
  • Empathy – The ability to understand another person’s thoughts and feelings from their perspective. Closely linked with kindness, empathy is about actively looking for opportunities to be there for other people.
  • Mindfulness – About being in the present moment. It builds a sense of clarity and calm, and can be practised through breathing exercises, meditation and paying attention to feelings and senses.

To support our student’s education in this area we have been sending out articles via the Rocket for parents to read and learn more about the importance of wellbeing. This term I would like parents to click on the following link and view the following five videos to further develop your understanding in this area.

  1. Intro
  2. Gratitute
  3. Empathy
  4. Mindfulness
  5. Summary
  6. Podcast
