BYOD Program

Commencing in 2016, our college Bring Your Own Device program has been introduced to students in Year 7. It is an expectation of enrolment at Melton Secondary College that all Year 7 students bring their own device (iPad (not mini), laptop or netbook) to school (which meets our Minimum Device Specifications document) to support their learning. It is currently optional for students in higher year levels to participate in our BYOD but in subsequent years BYOD will be expected at increasingly more year levels with all students in Years 7-12 participating by 2020. Teaching staff have been working hard to re-design curriculum to support our BYOD learning environment. Current Year 7 BYOD participants have been surveyed for feedback about how the program is going so far and their responses have been very positive.

Right now is an opportune time for any Year 7 students without a device to obtain one with the End of Financial Year Sales upon us at many computer retailers. JB Hi-Fi Education Solutions have specifically designed an online BYOD portal for our school which is accessible from our website (http://www.meltonsc.vic.edu.au/). The portal provides a range of device options, all of which are guaranteed to meet our school Minimum Device Specifications, as well as warranty, insurance and payment options. Our unique school code is: 2016MSC. Additional BYOD information and supporting documentation can also be obtained from the college website.
