Literature Circle - Join Us!

The Nossal IRC’s Literature Circle Book Club was held on Friday 16 February. We have held 3 Literature Circle Book Club meetings so far this year.  As always, when we host a literature circle meeting with teachers and students in attendance, it led to the usual expected depth of discussion with many interesting and creative perspectives to be heard. These meetings are an excellent opportunity for students to not only find an enjoyable book but also get to know the wider Nossal community as students from varying year levels and backgrounds are in attendance.  If you are interested in joining, please contact IRC Staff.

We also encourage students from Years 9 and 10 to participate in the Premiers’ Reading Challenge.  This will advance their reading skills and is likely to have a positive influence on study skills.

Many Hands...

Our students are quite enthusiastic about community involvement and always willing to assist with any major events. This year we again celebrated International Women’s Day at our school. The IRC staff, library monitors and duty students played a major role in supporting the event by preparing ribbons for all staff and students to wear during the special school assembly. Thank you to everyone who devoted their time to assist.

Book Week is Coming!

The IRC is very passionate about celebrating Book Week every year with the new theme.  In 2018, we will be celebrating from Monday 20 August to Friday 24 August and the theme for this year is “Find Your Treasure”.

A range of activities including: Book Week displays, writers in residence, inter-House creative writing, spelling bee, quiz competitions, CBCA book guess winner, Champion reader and Multicultural/Book Character dress up day will be organised for this event. The IRC Team looks forward to all students and staff becoming actively involved in the activities during our Book Week Celebration this year, lets make Book Week itself a sparkling treasure in 2018
